Augustana College announced 992 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2016-17 winter term. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.
The awards continue to pile up for Rockford University senior forward Zach Wallace (Rockford, Ill.) as earlier today he was named First Team Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University men's basketball program received good news Wednesday morning when two of its players were honored by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference for their performances on the court this past season. Senior Zach Wallace (Rockford, Ill.) highlighted the group by earning two separate awards. Wallace was voted First Team All-NACC and was also selected NACC Defensive Player of the Year.
Rockford University senior forward Zach Wallace (Rockford, Ill.) added another award to his collection on Monday when he was named Second Team All-Central Region by D3hoops.com. Wallace was just one of three NACC players to be named all-region this season, and also becomes only the second Regent to ever be selected all-region by D3hoops.com, with Robert Malone being the other back in the 2010-11 season.
Iowa State University students participated in the 2017 Southern Agricultural Economics Association (SAEA) undergraduate quiz bowl competition. The event, held February 4-6 in Mobile, Alabama, was an excellent way for students to further their economics knowledge and network with professionals from across the country. The group of eight undergraduates attending had a strong showing overall in the tournament of 32 teams.

Rockford University senior forward Zach Wallace (Rockford, Ill.) has been named NACC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts on the court last week. Wallace becomes only the second Regent this year to be recognized by the conference with a weekly award and the first basketball player. This is also the second time in his career he has received a weekly award from the conference with the other coming back in the 2014-15 season.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team would host the #18 ranked Phoenix of Cumberland University (CU) on Thursday. The Patriot ladies would control most of the game, but some late struggles from the floor coupled with a late run by the Phoenix would spell demise for the Patriots as they would fall 55-49 to CU. The loss moves UC to 7-5 on the season and 0-2 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference has recognized 1,104 full-time student-athletes as scholar-athletes for the 2013-14 academic year. Rockford had an excellent academic year as its 79 scholar-athletes is by far the most honorees the Regents have had in conference's eight-year history.
